Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about local SEO, schema markup, timelines, and what it's like to work with us.

What is the value of SEO?

SEO compounds. Every dollar spent on paid ads stops working the moment you stop paying — but rankings you earn through SEO keep bringing in traffic long after the work is done. Instead of renting visibility one click at a time, you're building an asset that gets more valuable as it climbs.

How does the process work?

You get a baseline report showing exactly where you stand today, then we build a plan around your specific keywords and market. From there, it's ongoing work — citations, on-page fixes, content, and profile management — with regular reporting so you can see what's moving and why.

How long will it take to see results?

It depends on where you're starting. Sites with some existing rankings typically see meaningful movement in 5-6 months. Newer sites, or ones with little to no search presence yet, usually take 7-9 months to build that same momentum. SEO isn't instant, and we won't tell you otherwise.

When should I expect leads or sales?

Not in the first month — and we'd be lying if we said otherwise. You generally need to reach page one before rankings translate into real leads and calls. The early months are building toward that; the payoff comes after.

What do you need from me to get started?

Access to your website, your Google Business Profile, and your analytics, plus a few competitor websites so we can see what you're actually up against. That's it — from there, we handle the work.

How long should I keep doing SEO?

SEO isn't a one-time fix — it's ongoing by nature. Search engines reward sites that stay active: fresh content, updated listings, and consistent signals over time. Businesses that stop investing eventually see their rankings fade as competitors who keep working pass them by.

What happens if I stop working with you?

You own everything we do. If you ever decide to stop, we don't remove, undo, or hold anything hostage — the work stays exactly as it is. We're not going to lock you into anything; we'd just rather you stick around because it's working.

What does Google Business Profile (GBP) optimization actually involve?

It starts with making sure your business's name, address, and phone number are properly linked to your Google Business Profile — that connection is what gives Google confidence in your listing. From there, it's building out categories, photos, posts, and reviews so your profile actually earns map-pack visibility instead of just sitting there half-finished.

What kind of on-page website work do you do?

We update your meta tags, titles, and descriptions — the details that have an outsized impact on whether Google understands and ranks your pages. We also fix the technical and coding errors that quietly block indexing, which is often the real reason a good business doesn't show up in search.

What are citations, and why do they matter?

Citations are consistent listings of your business across directories like Yelp, Bing, Yellow Pages, and Foursquare. When your name, address, and phone number match everywhere, it reinforces to Google that your business is legitimate and exactly where you say it is — inconsistent listings do the opposite.

Do you work with agencies or offer white-label services?

No. We work directly with small businesses only — never through an agency, and never white-labeled. Marking up our work through a middleman isn't fair to the business actually paying for it.

What makes Sleek Web Designs different?

Lincoln has been solving hands-on technical and business problems since 2009, first running a phone repair business before founding Sleek Web Designs in 2015. That background means you're working directly with the founder — not handed off to a junior account manager — and getting an agency that treats schema markup and technical details as the foundation, not an afterthought.
